Please be advised that monthly membership dues EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 1, 2012 will go up to $40.60 per month.  Dues for January 2012 only will be $39.80.  Please click here for more information.


Boilermakers Local 169 recently received an NMAPC Zero Injury Safety Award for the BC Cobb job at Consumers Energy for contractor AP Com.

 

An awards ceremony was held in Washington, DC in October 2011, and Local 169 was presented with a plaque from the NMAPC.

 

A total of 58,647 hours were worked on that job with zero injuries recorded.  Congratulations and thank you to all of the Boilermakers who worked on that job.

We have added a "Training" page to our website, which lists classes that Boilermakers Local 169 will be holding at our training center.  These classes will be for both apprentices and Journeymen alike, so please take a moment to visit this page and see if there is a class you may be interested in signing up for.

 

 

Reverend Cletus Kiley inspired the 2,000+ Building Trades union leaders and members who filled the Washington Hilton for the 2011 Building and Construction Trades Department (BCTD) Legislative Conference.

The AFL-CIO blog ran a nice piece on BCTD President Mark Ayers’ speech.

The tone was set by Reverend Kiley’s heartfelt repudiation of the status quo, of the “current social contract,” and his espousal of the blessing of the “righteous anger” that has filled the movement. Full video of the invocation is below.
