Ratified Contract Changes for the 2007 - 2010 Agreement

 

2007 – 2010 Contract Amendments

Agreed upon by Union and Employers June 6, 2007

Effective July 1, 2007 

 

Article 6 - Union Security, Assessment, and Dues Check-Off
Amend as follows

As of the effective date of the Agreement, all employees under the terms of this Agreement must be or become members of the Union seven (7) days thereafter; the employees hired after the effective date of this agreement shall be or become and remain members of the union seven (7) days after their date of employment in accordance with the provisions of the National Labor Relations Act.

 

Article 10 – Overtime
Amend as Follows:

Section 1:  Effective July 1, 2007, all hours performed in excess of the standard work day, Monday – Friday and all hours worked on Saturday, shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half.  Double-time rates shall apply on all hours worked on Sundays and holidays enumerated in Section 2.

 

Section 2:  Double-time rate shall apply on Sunday and the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving Day, President’s Day, Labor Day and Christmas Day.  President’s Day shall be observed the day after Thanksgiving.  Should any of the above mentioned holidays fall on a Saturday or Sunday, then the day observed by the State or Nation shall be considered as the holiday.  No work to be performed on Christmas or Labor Day, except to preserve life or property.

 

Article 13 – Transportation Allowance
Amend as follows:

Contractors that pay eligible employees transportation allowance for work performed within the jurisdiction of Local 169 shall also pay the same transportation allowance to any man assigned to work under the scope of this Agreement at the same project.  The transportation allowance will be paid as follows:

Article 21 - Health & Welfare

Change Health & Welfare from hours worked to hours paid

Any increase mandated by Board of Trustees to maintain Plan G coverage shall be borne by the Employee (refer to paragraph 3).

  • $6.82 per straight time hour

  • $10.23 per time & one half hour

  • $13.64 per double time hour

 

 

Article 20 - Upper Peninsula Wages

  • Add “or area” after “job by job” in line one of Market Recovery paragraph of Article 20.

  • Draft Memorandum of Understanding #3 to establish a committee made up of equal numbers of Union and Employer representatives

  • The Committee will develop and implement a plan to address wage disparities in the geographic jurisdiction of Boilermakers Local 169

  • The Committee will be established on or before July 31, 2007 and report to the Collective Bargaining Committee on or before July 1, 2008

 

Article 20 – Wages

  • 2007 – 2008 - $1.79 wage increase

-         $0.09 contribution increase to go to the Great Lakes Area Boilermaker Apprenticeship Program (GLABAP)

-         Pension frozen at current rate

  • 2008 – 2009 - $1.75 wage increase

-         Projected $0.05 contribution increase to go to GLABAP

-         If there is no increase, the $0.05 will be paid to the Employee

-         Pension frozen at current rate

  • 2009 – 2010 - $1.70 wage increase

 

Appendix B - National Pension & Trust Fund, Section 2
Amend as follows:

Employer agrees to be bound by the Trust Agreement entered into as of June 2, 1960, establishing the Boilermaker-Blacksmith National Pension Trust and by any amendments to said Trust Agreement, adopted any time thereafter.
