River Rouge - April 2008 - 15 men per shift

 

Belle River - Fall 2008 - nine weeks - 150 men per shift

Work Outlook Area 2- Jim Kaffenberger, Business Agent

April 14 2008: JH Campbell Unit 3 boiler outage begins, going 12 days of 10's, with two shifts of 83 Boilermakers each.  Northern Boiler is the contractor.  The job will take plate welders, mechanics and tube welders.

Work Outlook Area 3 - Mike Card, Business Agent/Dispatcher

MCV will have a C-Inspection in May 2008 for 16 Boilermakers, going six weeks of 6/10's.  AP Com will be the contractor.

MCV will be installing six package boilers sometime in May 2008.  The job will take 12-15 Boilermakers and go 40 hours for 6-8 months.  Monarch will be the contractor.

There will be some outages at Michigan Sugar sometime this summer.  No manpower or dates as of yet.

Jamar:

Liquor Boiler at Verso - April 14, 2008. 11-13 days of 7/12's, going two shifts with 75 men per shift.

Upcoming work for Day & Zimmerman:

April 2008 - Unit 9 - UPG - four men, two weeks, 40 hours

L'Anse Boiler modification is projected to go this spring and be online by 2008.  This modification will change the boiler from an ash hopper style to either a grate system or a fluidized bed.
