I would like to thank all the members that made this fall outage season a success. Although there were many challenges this year, the Boilermakers of Local 169 survived adverse conditions and situations to complete the tasks at hand and provide quality workmanship, in a safe and timely manner. While we cannot always control every aspect of a job, we can control how we react to the issues we face. I am very proud of the way the Boilermakers of Local 169 reacted to these issues and got the job done. Together, in solidarity, we have accomplished many things. Boilermakers Local 169 has faced adversities for over 120 years, and unfortunately, we are bound to face them again. But, with solidarity, craftsmanship, and brotherhood, we will prevail. In addition, I would like to thank all members for their efforts to make our hazardous work environment as safe as possible.
As many of you know, the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers has initiated the M.O.R.E. Work Investment Fund. We will be opening our by-laws and voting on this issue at the December meeting in Area One. As always, food and beverage will be provided at the meeting in observance of the Christmas holiday. Please make every effort to attend. The upcoming election on November 6th is the most important election of our time. The future of our state and country will be decided by those elected to office. We have a great opportunity to change our future and elect those who will protect the rights of working people in our state. For a complete list of endorsed candidates, visit this website or check your Building Tradesmen newspaper. In closing, I would like to remind you that specialized welding training for the upcoming "Blue Water Project" is available at the training center. Call the union hall for details. Comments are closed.
