Spring 2018

With the Spring Outage season currently underway, I would like to emphasize the importance of job site safety. Please do your best to protect yourself and those working around you. In addition, please lend a helping hand or word of advice to one of our many apprentices. The mentoring you provide is vital to the continued success of our great brotherhood.
This summer looks to be a busy one for Local 169. This, along with the fall outage season, as well as the upcoming new construction planned for our jurisdiction, will be a great benefit to our members and our local. Please do your part to insure that our jobs are properly staffed for our owners and signatory contractors.
As usual, this summer brings with it a host of fun activities planned for our members. The entertainment committee is working hard to provide picnics in all four areas, as well as our annual golf outing. Please do your best to attend any or all of these events.
In closing, I would like to encourage every member to take advantage of the world class training at our training center. With new requirements for the referral list and various job sites, it is vitally important that you get the training required for these jobs. Boilermakers Local 169 has done its part to provide all the tools and training necessary to make you the best choice for all our owners and contractors. It's up to you to take advantage of it.
Last, Boilermakers Local 169 will be offering specialized welding classes, local weld testing, and Code Training this summer. Call the hall for details.
